EIAC: Day One Reflection
This episode is a sleep-deprived, slightly overheated ramble through day one of the EIAC and, honestly, it’s exactly what you’d expect from recording in a hotel room that feels like a sauna, at an hour when no thoughts should be verbalised.
It’s my first proper competition, and I go into everything from the evil early morning start (no, I did not make the 6am practice), to shooting with a genuinely lovely group of women, to trying (and mostly failing) not to loudly sigh and curse my way through every end.
There are a few decent shots, a lot of “what am I actually doing here?”, and the realisation that I might be too relaxed about the whole thing.
Also featuring: tragic makeup, questionable food situations, deep thoughts about bow poundage, and the ongoing internal battle between “I can do this” and “I should absolutely not be trusted with sharp objects.”
It’s messy and a bit all over the place but at the core of it, it’s about being a tiny bit proud of myself.
